Welcome to my home page. I am continuously adding things to this page so stay tuned for new items.

Hi. My name is Brad Broerman, and I work as a software engineer for Car-Part.com (The worlds largest online search engine for used car parts), specializing in Java web applications and E-Commerce, in Cincinnati, Ohio . I have a BS in Computer Engineering from Wright State University , in Dayton, and I am a member of Triangle Fraternity , a social fraternity for engineers, architects, and scientists. I am divorced (for a long time now), and have three boys, who live with me: a 19 year old son, a 17 year old son, and a 15 year old son. I live in somewhat new house, in Eastgate (a suburb of Cincinnati) which I'm finally decorating, fixing problems left by the builders, and paying for the lazyness of myself and my ex in not taking care of the place... I'm also a veteran. I spent four years in the U.S. Navy, stationed in Norfolk, Virginia aboard the USS Saginaw (LST-1188) . Funny, Most of the people I knew then would never have guessed this, but I really miss those times!

Currently, my hobbies include taking care of my kids, trying to take care of the house, hiking and camping with the Boy Scouts, staying very active in the Order of the Arrow, going on day trips, or just lounging around watching a good movie. The whole family is interested in hiking and camping, and we are all involved in Scouting (Boy Scouts, Venture, and Order of the Arrow). This gives us many opportunities for camping! I also write a fair amount of software in my spare time, mostly security or web related. My current projects include a version of the Redis memory cache with native SSL support (as well as connector libraries in C, C++, PHP, and Java), file manager plug-ins for TinyMCE, FTP and SFTP upload applets in Java for websites, and a Secure Ajax framework which greatly improves security for websites and web services. When I have time, I also build websites for small companies. I have a GitHub repository with all my released free projects...

I also have my own small consulting company Nearly Perfect Software . I've used that company name for all of my shareware, open source libraries, and consulting work since the mid-80's and finally decided to set up a website for it. Mainly due to a software library that I've developed and actually have a Patent in the works. This could be big, according to many of my friends in the business... Check it out!

Oh, for those wondering what to get me for special occations (hint to the family), here's a textbook wish list, courtesty of Amazon.com.
